Sunset - Galle, Sri Lanka

 

We spent the weekend down the coast in Galle and were fortunate to witness an amazing sunset. There aren't too many people visiting the area due to covid and the season for the south coat doesn't get underway for a month or so more. God knows when more people will head down south so may as well enjoy it while it's quiet.

Views - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The cable car ride to the top of sugar loaf in Rio offers stunning views over the city. Christ the redeemer can be seen on the top right hand corner of the frame with Botafogo Bay at bottom right and the beaches of Copacabana Ipanema and Leblon spreading across the left hand frame of the image. Tripods are not allowed at the top of Sugar Loaf but there are plenty of places to balance the camera!

Adam's Bridge - Mannar, Sri Lanka

Adam's bridge is made up of 16 sand banks or "islands" between Sri Lanka and India. It is firs mentioned in the Hindu epic "Ramayana" where it is said to have been built by Rama's army to allow them to cross to Sri Lanka. Archeological evidence does suggest that the bridge is a man made structure. It was usable until the 1800s.

Sundown - Galle, Sri Lanka

A short walk along the beach from the Light House Hotel brought me to this headland just in time to watch a stunning sunset. I was in luck as three people walked down to the waters edge just in time for me to include them in the frame.
